Remember the joy as a child of learning how the universe works? Maybe you marvelled at planets and stars or exploded in laughter when you mixed baking soda and vinegar together for the first time.
It's this sense of wonder that National Science Week hopes to instil in children. This year, one of the highlights is Living Science at the Queen Victoria Market, where families can learn about the science behind their favourite foods.
Hands-on activities will get kids extracting DNA from strawberries, sampling chocolate (for science!) and watching cooking demonstrations.
