Time Out says

The Grammy Award-winning voice of The Lion King is kicking off his world tour in Australia

If you think of the music from Disney's 1994 mega-hit The Lion King, the first thing you probably hear is the distinctive call across the Savanna that opens the movie: "Naaaaaaa!"

That voice is Soweto-born Lebo M, who composed all the choral arrangements for the film and wrote multiple new songs for the stage production that's continuing to play on Broadway and tour the world. He won a Grammy for 'The Circle of Life', and is now back in the studio working with Elton John and Hans Zimmer on the upcoming live action version of The Lion King, starring Beyoncé and Donald Glover.

And just FYI, the full opening line from the film – the one you've tried to replicate a million times – is sung in Zulu and is actually "Nants ingonyama bagithi Baba Sithi uhm ingonyama," which basically means "Here comes a lion, father. Oh yes, it's a lion."

Lebo M has toured extensively with Zimmer, but in 2019 is taking his own show on the road, performing alongside a South African band, his own Pride Singers and a symphony orchestra. Of course, there'll be plenty from The Lion King, as well as musical moments from across his whole career, including ongoing collaborations with Zimer as well as The Power of One, Tears of The Sun, Dinosaur, Back On The Block and The Legend of Tarzan.
