Melbourne and Victoria are welcoming Australia's top musicians for a new concert series

Live, in-person concerts were something of a mythical beast in 2020 but the Mushroom Group is making up for a less than stellar 12 months for musicians with a new concert series. Sounds Better Together is heating up Victoria's regional and metropolitan stages this summer with a concert series between January 23 and 30.

The series kicks off on Jan 23 with two concerts: one at Mt Duneed Estate with performances by Missy Higgins, Tones and I, Gordi and Didirri, as well as one at Yarra Valley's Rochford Wines where Jimmy Barnes, the Teskey Brothers and Vika and Linda Bull will take to the stage. For the third concert, Barnsey (along with Deborah Conway and Daryl Braithwaite) will perform at All Saints Estate in Rutherglen, before the regional concerts wrap up in Mallacoota (with an encore performance by Braithwaite, plus James Reyne, Mia Wray and Vika and Linda Bull again).

A second round of concerts has also been announced, which showcases some of our favourite indoor venues across Melbourne and Victoria. These include Alex Lahey and Scott Darlow at the Espy on Jan 25; The Living End and Bakers Eddy at the Forum on Jan 27; Ross Wilson and Fergus James at Castlemaine's Theatre Royal on Jan 27; Didirri and Mia Wray at the Whalers Hotel in Warnambool on Jan 28; and the Pierce Brothers and Shannen James at Westernport Hotel in San Remo on Jan 29.

Sounds Better Together has a number of measures in place to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience. This includes increased cleaning, hand sanny stations, more food, drink and sanitary amenities (to reduce queuing) and digital tickets to assist in record keeping.

Tickets for all shows are available now. Going as a group? Be sure to purchase tickets together if you want to be seated together. More shows are expected to be announced soon.
