Two market days of truffle mania this winter
Taste the best of Australia's winter bounty at Prahran Market this weekend where Truffle Melbourne will be bringing together a line-up of chefs to cook up winter dishes topped with the black gold of the culinary world.
Madame Truffles will be serving up truffle and cheese toasties and a truffle pork jowl rarebit, while MeatMaiden will be serving up a fancy hot dog with a smoked beef and pork truffle sausage, truffle fries and truffled crab mac 'n' cheese toasties. Visit the Piper Street Food Co for a serve or two truffled cassoulet with mashy peas, and pork pies with truffled mushy peas.
There's plenty to eat over the two market days, but there's plenty to take home. Live chef demonstrations by Guy Grossi, Paul Wilson and Philippe Mouchel will teach fans of the deliciously funky stuff how to use it at home. You can also buy fresh truffles from across Australia and meet the hard working pooches who sniff truffles out in the country.
