One thing that the team at Bodhi & Ride want to get out there is that their classes aren’t just spin classes. Yes, you'll be on a stationary bike and you'll up your intensity in accordance with instruction. But you get clip-in shoes, instruction about hand positions and a proper seat adjustment. There are DJ-mixed tunes and the mood lights keep things calm, cool and surprisingly dark. You’ll feel like you’ve stumbled into a rave rather than workout.
These classes also go further than the usual thigh burn, with hand weights thrown into the mix to work your arms and core. You'll get an all-over body workout, and yes, you'll have that nice-sore feeling the next day of having worked your muscles to their limit. Coordination is key here, but if you can get through a Zumba class without tripping over your own feet, you’ll be golden.
The South Yarra studio also includes a community focused area with free yoga, meditation, dance and nutrition workshops.
Bodhi & Ride has three studios located in Port Melbourne, South Yarra and Melbourne’s CBD.
