Well, not quite. These days, Harry Melling, who played Harry Potter’s mean-spirited cousin alongside Daniel Radcliffe, is a 27-year-old actor and playwright who wrote and performed his debut solo show Peddling to rave reviews in London in 2014. Now, it has been developed for secondary school students by acclaimed director Susie Dee (who most recently directed the quadruple Green Room Award-winning SHIT) and stars young NIDA graduate Darcy Brown.
Peddling is a coming-of-age story of The Boy – a streetwise, disaffected London teenager who navigates the hidden underworld of the city while selling everyday essentials from door to door. The whole piece plays out in freeform rap, accompanied by live percussion.
