Attica’s Ben Shewry is teaming up with the Avalanches for a free virtual party

We all need a little levity right now – so what’s better than one of Melbourne’s coolest restaurants teaming up with one of the country’s coolest electronic groups for a one-night-only virtual party? Well, maybe the fact that it’s free to enjoy and it’s gonna leave you with one hell of a smile on your face.

Attica’s owner and head chef Ben Shewry is already doing a great thing with Attica’s takeaway options, but he’s now teaming up with the Avalanches’ Robbie Chater and Tony Di Blasi for a free virtual house party on Saturday, September 12.

The party will hopefully bring some fun into the homes of many locked-down Melburnians. Di Blasi and Chater are calling it a “love letter and a thank you to this city that has supported us for so long.”

The party actually kicks off earlier than the 12th though, with Shewry dropping a series of ‘how to party’ videos before the event on the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival’s website as well as on social channels. These videos will give you some expert knowledge on making party food like “hectic” prawn cocktails and “better than sausage” sausage rolls, as well as turning your house into a temporary discotheque.

Then, on the night of the party, there will be a support DJ set from Soju Gang before the Avalanches take the virtual stage for their own set.

Ticket registration is now open – once you register, you’ll be sent a link to the live YouTube event on the day of the event. You can register here.
