Time Out says

[Sponsored] Take a literal leap of faith to help support kids in foster care

Abseiling off a skyscraper might sound scary, but it’s nothing compared to the fear that many children experience living in foster care. Charity organisation Anglicare Victoria is putting the call out for brave individuals, teams and corporate groups to face their fears so that kids in the foster system can face theirs.

Altitude Shift is asking Melburnians to abseil down a CBD building to help raise money for kids in foster care. Round up your most fearless mates, colleagues or go at it alone as you raise money and then abseil down a 113-metre building in the centre of the city. The towering structure in question is the St James building at 535 Bourke Street where you’ll get to enjoy a pretty spectacular view of Melbourne before boldly abseiling down to the ground.

No experience necessary to give this heart-stopping fundraiser a crack – all you need is to be over 16 years old and have the heart of a lion. Those taking part will also need to register for $150 and commit to raising at least $850 to help kids doing it tough. The moment of fear you’ll face clambering down the building is nothing compared to the fear that foster kids can experience.

Altitude Shift is happening over two days from March 29 to 30. For more information or to register, head over to the Altitude Shift website.
