Scienceworks joins forces with experts, astronauts and artists for a party starring astronomy and light

Get a selfie with your favourite Star Wars character, take a virtual reality tour of the universe, stargaze through top-of-the-range telescopes and listen in on fascinating talks at Scienceworks' annual astronomy festival.

International Space Station flight controller Andrea Boyd and former astronaut trainer Dr Gail Illes will talk about human spaceflight, Dr Naomi Mathers will talk about the Australian Space Agency, and OzGrav researchers Debatri Chattopadhyay, Lucy Strang and Hannah Middleton will talk about fun space stuff like gravitational waves and 'spaghettification'.

This family-friendly event includes a range of hands-on activities like interactive flight exhibition Above and Beyond. Plus, play virtual reality game Earthlight Spacewalk to give you a sense of what being in space is like.

Naturally, there'll be a bar, café and food trucks to fuel you up all night.
