Coombe Yarra Valley – the former home of famed opera singer Dame Nellie Melba – is hosting a very fancy garden party this summer. On Sunday, January 20 the lush estate (now a winery, cellar door and restaurant) will team up with wine retailer Vinomofo to host an afternoon soirée.
The Coombe Yarra Valley Summer Garden Party is a lot more fancy than your average summer party. Guests will be treated to free-flowing wine, craft beer, an oyster and blanc de blanc bar, canapés, lunch-sized tasting boards, live entertainment, lawn games (think croquet, bocce and giant Jenga) and complementary tours of the estate’s very photogenic gardens.
You’ll also be among the first to try Coombe’s London dry gin, which Coombe Yarra Valley have created as a tribute to Dame Nellie Melba. Tastings of Coombe’s Triubte range wil be available too alongside your choice of chardonnay, pinot noir, rosé, sparkling blanc de blanc, pinot gris and shiraz.
Most prudently, the estate is also offering the option of transport to and from the Melbourne CBD. It’s the easiest way to avoid arguments over who’s stuck being designated driver.
Tickets are $130 and are available now.
