Transport yourself to Lebanon and enjoy its culture at this Kahlil Gibran inspired event

The Immigration Museum is bringing Kahlil Gibran’s Lebanon to Melbourne to celebrate his life and work. As part of its Kahlil Gibran exhibition, the museum’s open-air courtyard will be transformed into a Gibran-inspired oasis of literary, musical and culinary delights on Saturday, February 23.

You can go through a visual journey of Gibran’s life with Glen Kalem, a Kahlil Gibran historian, beginning from his roots in Lebanon to his current universal acclaim. A line-up of spoken word poets and artists will perform the works of Gibran in his native tongue. Music inspired by Gibran along with a variety of contemporary and traditional music from the Middle Eastern region will add to the beautiful atmosphere of the event.

Delicious Lebanese fare and flatbread will be available to try along with servings of free Middle Eastern tea. You can even attend workshops that explore the medicinal value and flavours of Middle Eastern tea varieties and teach you flatbread-making techniques that are common in Lebanon.

The event will run from 3-8pm and it's free with your museum entry ticket. You can check out the full schedule and book your tickets here.
