The life and work of Kahlil Gibran have temporarily found residence at Melbourne's Immigration Museum. The Garden of the Prophet exhibition celebrates Gibran, a Lebanese-born poet, artist and literary genius, through his original paintings, sketches, manuscripts and artefacts which have travelled from the Gibran Museum in Lebanon.
A powerful migrant story is told in Gibran’s own words as the works exhibited is accompanied with direct quotes from Gibran, his family and his friends instead of traditional text labels. Gibran’s work has a universal audience and his most renowned work The Prophet has been published in over 100 languages.
The exhibition is on till March 17 and is included with museum entry tickets. You can buy tickets and learn more about the exhibition here.
