Time Out says

Adopt a greyhound this weekend at the Ascot Lot

Melbourne has taken to greyhound adoptions with a passion. There are still plenty of needy hounds in need of new homes though, so the Ascot Lot is teaming up with Gumtree Greys to host Gravy and Greyhounds – a one-day event where you can find your new canine bestie while sampling some delicious gravy-laden dishes.

Each food truck on the day will be serving up dishes slathered in saucy gravy. The line-up includes Curry Up Food Truck, Chef Calamari, Dr Sous, Farang Thai Isaan Eateryand Jim Brown Cypriot Food Truck who will be dishing out everything from classic poutine to rad na (crisp noodles with Thai gravy).

Also in attendance will be the Canine Wellness Kitchen so Fido need not miss out on the foodie fun times. They’ll be hawking dog-friendly treats (including dog-friendly beer) so they can join you in your afternoon bev.

Gumtree Greys will have greyhounds there on the day that you can adopt if you've been thinking about getting a grey, but you’re also welcome to bring your own dog of any breed for a friendly catch-up. All dogs are welcome throughout the entire venue.
