Melbourne’s food lovers' hub in the north, Preston Market, is having a one-day party dedicated to Italy this October. On Sunday, October 13 the market is hosting pop-up Italian food stalls, activities and entertainment in addition to the regular Italian traders.
From 10am to 3pm, get around arrosticini from Abruzzo Lab, Tuscan sangers from Rustic Tuscan, pasta and arancini from Mariluci Fine Foods, Sicilian street eats from U Fuculari Sicilian Barbeque, panzerotti from Il Panzerotto, arancini from Melbourne Panini, cannoli from Cannoleria and tartufo from That’s Amore Gelato.
Once you’ve some food, sit back and watch free all-ages puppet show La Lampada di Aladino (Aladdin and the Magic Lamp). The event will also hold free pasta-making workshops for kids, where they’ll learn how to make fettuccine. I bambini can also decorate their own Venetian masks to take home.
