Time Out says

The one-of-a-kind program features a series of talks from keynote speakers like director Roman Coppola

Never Permanent – presented by the internationally acclaimed design festival Semi Permanent – is coming to Melbourne for a one-day sojourn at the Royal Exhibition Building on August 24.

Produced in partnership with the City of Melbourne, Never Permanent is a one-of-a-kind event that celebrates new technologies as a means of advancing artistic vision. From 9am until 4pm, the program features keynote talks and panel discussions exploring the ever-changing intersection of creativity and technology.

The headliner is a discussion by director and screenwriter Roman Coppola. Coppola has played an integral part in several film projects, including the recently released Wes Anderson film Asteroid City. He has also worked on several other Anderson films, such as The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Darjeeling Limited and Moonrise Kingdom. He has worked with Sofia Coppola on films like Marie Antoinette, The Virgin Suicides and Lost in Translation.

Another highlight from the Never Permanent program is a talk by the designer and technologist Mindy Seu. You can expect Seu to discuss her ongoing Cyberfeminism Index, which gathers three decades of online activism and net art.

An appearance by multi-disciplinary artist Ta-ku is also set to be a must-see. Hailing from Perth, the artist of Filipion-Maori heritage has risen to prominence as one of the world's most in-demand beatmakers. His first solo album, Songs To Come Home To, will be launched at Never Permanent.

Never Permanent will take place on August 24 at the Royal Exhibition Building. To discover the full program, visit the website here.
