Time Out says

The world may be getting more online and digital, but old-school circus skills will never stop thrilling audiences. If you’ve ever hankered to learn how to juggle, walk the tightwire or swing from a trapeze, your chance has arrived with a session at the National Institute of Circus Arts’ Come & Try Circus Day.

These sessions are designed for adult total beginners (16+ years). Try a single 75-minute session or choose from a menu of skills. You can get an introduction to using an aerial ring or acrobatic pole, perform the elegant art of tissu, learn to tumble and do handstands, or hit the trampoline and more.

All classes are taught by experienced trainers and industry professionals and there are no strings attached – apart from the ones you might happen to be hanging from that is. The lessons take place in custom-built circus training facilities in Prahran, providing an intimate and supportive environment for all participants.

It’s an easy and affordable way to find out if circus is for you and to start your journey towards having some truly impressive skills to show off. Sessions are just $20 and take place at 9.45am, 11am and 1pm. Then if you decide to book a term of classes you’ll even get a 5 per cent discount. Find out more here.
