Time Out says

You can pick fresh cherries at two Yarra Valley orchards this summer

Is there anything better than fresh summer fruit? Maybe being able to pick your own straight from the orchards

This summer you’re invited, once again, to pick your own cherries at CherryHill Orchards in the Yarra Valley. This picturesque property produces some of the country’s finest cherries, and the CherryHill team are opening their doors to the public this year for picking season.

New for 2021, CherryHill has announced a second location in Coldstream for picking season. The new Coldstream orchard and the original Wandin East orchard will be open throughout cherry season, which runs from November through to early January.

The orchard is also offering posh picnics among the cherry trees. The posh picnics include a grazing platter of charcuterie and antipasto, as well as sweet treats and drinks of the alcoholic and non-alcoholic variety. Each posh picnic sitting is $12per person, and the picnic rug is set up for you among the trees. The picnics are designed for four or more guests. During your four-hour session, you can also pick cherries in a private row at your leisure, and like all of the cherry-picking sessions at CherryHill, you can eat as much as you want while picking.

Don't want the full picnic setup? Head down to purchase a little something from the food trucks and the on-site café. Time slots run for 2.5 hours and you'll be able to try cherry ice cream and cherry drinks, enjoy a picnic amongst the grounds and wander the beautiful surrounds.

Entry costs $19.50 per adult and $10.50 per child (aged four to 13) to pick your own fruit, and you'll be charged per kilo for cherries to take home. All cherries eaten on site are included in the entry price.

Check out the website for more information. Tickets go on sale from October 4. Note: the Wandin East season runs from November 27 to early January, while the Coldstream season runs from November 15 to early January.
