Get your skates on this winter at two pop-up ice rinks in the city

It might not get cold enough in Melbourne to skate on the Yarra, but this winter you'll be able to try the next best thing. Skating At Festival is coming to Melbourne this June and July, opening two pop-up ice skating rinks around the city.

Southbank and St Kilda will become winter wonderlands where you can skate gracefully (or not so gracefully) 'til your heart's content. The rinks are fine for skaters of all levels with skates included and 'kanga' skate aids available for littlies still finding their ice legs.

Choose from either a riverside skate experience at Crown Promenade, or visit St Kilda for a beachy skate on the corner of Acland and Barkly streets, near Acland Court Shopping Centre. The Southbank rink will be open until late on Friday and Saturday nights too so you can indulge in some nighttime skating surrounded by music and fairy lights.

Plus, if you're heading down to the Mornington Peninsula this winter you can also take part in the icy action with Skating At Festival hosting a rink in Sorrento.
