As sunshine builds in intensity and the nights get balmier we're always on the hunt for some mid-summer refreshment. Nothing hits the spot quite like a tangy icy Margarita on a hot day and thankfully the world's premier tequila Patrón is giving us a reason to hunt down the best versions of the invigorating cocktail to celebrate World Margarita Day on February 22. This February you can find ultra-special Patrón Margaritas at venues around Melbourne or master some zippy versions at home with recipes from the Marg masters at Patrón.

The Margarita is known for its celebratory nature. Born in 1938 in Mexico, the Margarita of today still uses the classic combination of triple sec, tequila, and lime juice to get the party started all around the world. Patrón Silver is the ideal tequila for building a festive Margarita and is used by bars all over the globe.

With a bottle of Patrón on-hand you're able to celebrate World Margarita Day (or any day) at home with some of the revered tequila's custom recipes. Add a summery twist to your classic Marg with their Watermelon Basil Margarita, Perfect Pineapple Margarita or Spicy Margarita. Aside from each list of ingredients, all you'll need is a cocktail shaker, ice and some worthy glassware to kick your summer Margarita game up a notch.

Go on a Margarita hunt to Captain Baxter’s rooftop restaurant and bar in St Kilda for a side of breezy views with your cocktail. For the whole month the venue will be celebrating the Margarita with three options all available for $22. Try a classic Margarita or spice things up with a Habanero Margarita or a Pepperberry Margarita. The concoctions are perfect for enjoying with Captain Baxter's seaside-savvy dishes like prawn and ginger dumplings or salt and vinegar fried King George whiting guo bao buns.

The Margarita appreciation at Captain Baxter's runs from February 1-28 and more Melbourne venues are jumping aboard the Margarita train throughout the month. Find out how you can get your hands on a bottle of Patrón with more information and recipes here.

Keep your eyes peeled for venues celebrating World Margarita Day and Patrón around Melbourne and you just might receive a complimentary drink. Patrón is giving away a Margarita for free for the entire month. All you need to do is sign up here and claim your Marg at a venue near you.
