'Tis the season of ghosts, ghouls and gourds. Make the most out of autumn by paying a visit to a pumpkin display at one of the best family attractions in NYC. 

From the fall wonderland at Queens County Farm Museum to the pumpkin arch at Pier 17, these Instagrammable spots are a must-visit if you're looking for a family photo. Plus, you'll want to stick around for fun fall activities in the area. (QCF is essentially a Halloween haven.)

1. Pier 17 Pumpkin Arch

Things to do Exhibitions Pier 17 at the Seaport District, Financial District

No stroll through the Seaport District this fall would be complete without a visit to the Pumpkin Arch. Stationed at the Heineken Riverdeck at Pier 17, the arch comprised of 500 gorgeous gourds and other fall goodness is on view now until Thanksgiving. Bring the kids for a super-cute pumpkin photo shoot as the Brooklyn Bridge looms in the background. All ages.

Things to do Greenwood

This waterfront complex transforms into a Halloween hotspot come October. Expect hundreds of pumpkins adorned on the campus, as well as mummies, skeletons and other spooky sightings!

Though you're definitely taking a walk on the floral side, this list would be remiss not to include "The Fall Escape" at the Queens County Museum. The gorgeous autumn display provides plenty of fun photo ops for you and your little New Yorkers—from the Blooming Enchanted Fall Forest to the life-sized Pumpkin Spice Latte! Be sure to stay for other fun activities like the Amazing Maize Maze, hayrides, pumpkin picking and more. All ages.

4. Boo at the Zoo at the Bronx Zoo

News City Life

In a spooky state of mind? Head to Boo at the Zoo! Thursday through Sunday from Oct 1 to Nov 1 is your chance to revel in the Halloween fun, from magic shows and pumpkin carving demonstrations to mind reading and trips through the spooky extinct animal graveyard. From 11am–4pm, you and your can wander through Butterfly Patio's Pumpkin Trail to get a glimpse of hand-carved gourds!

Though best-known for its Christmas displays, Rockefeller Center's gorgeous fall decorations are not to be missed. A few snaps in front of the pumpkins and mums make the perfect fall family photo!

An Halloween tradition continues in a new format this year. Thirty artists who participate in New York’s Village Halloween Parade have created an adorable virtual puppet parade that's an adorable way to ring in this spooky day.
