Seemingly kicking off festivities with Spring Break at Le Carrousel on April 2, Bryant Park is gearing up for an exciting spring/summer with fun activities for families. (Seriously…don’t miss that event…there’s free face painting, a puppet show, crafts and a balloon artist).

Join Brianne Manz of Stroller in the City! for fun flower crown–making (all materials provided) from 5:30–7pm Wednesday, April 6 on the Southwest Porch in Bryant Park, enjoy Scotland at the Fountain Terrace “Tartan Week” performances at lunchtime and sunset from April 6–10, go on Spring Birding Tours as of April 11 and enjoy the kickoff of Word for Word Poetry with Nightboat Books on April 19 from 6–7:30pm.

It’s also worth checking out the Art Cart (open April through October 11am–8pm weather permitting). While the schedule is still being hashed out, workshop picks that have been released already include June 14’s Craft Workshops: Cardboard Looms (11am–noon, Fifth Avenue Terrace) hosted by Craftsman Supply, July 12’s Craft Workshops: Water-Soluble Materials 11am–noon (also by Craftsman Supply) and Craft Workshop: Scratchboards on August 9. Be sure to register online for those (links yet to be posted)! Oh, and when there isn’t a workshop, families are still welcome to come use craft supplies like crayons, colored pencils, markers, ribbon, glue, paper and stencils.

Be sure to check out other fun things to do over spring break for kids and our favorite outdoor activities for kids, too!
