Even NYC's coolest indoor playgrounds don't hold a candle to Pixel Academy's upcoming Future STEM Technology Playground, an amazing local one-day event in which kids ages 7 and up get to tinker with WOW!-worthy virtual reality equipment like Oculus Rift and HTC Vive in the VR Zone, learn about holographic technology and volumetric displays before they’re released to the public and even test drone piloting skills with target challenges and flying cargo through hoops. Sure, it's a non-traditional "playground," but it's a playground nonetheless!
Pixel Academy—Cobble Hill's ultimate destination for tech-related after-school classes, hands-on workshops and camp programs—will host the Technology Playground event on May 13 from noon to 3pm. The event is free to the public (yippee!), but RSVPs are required (click here).
P.S. If your child wants to dive deeper into STEM activities, consider signing 'em up for one of these science camp and STEM camp programs or traditional day camps this summer.
