It looks like T-Rex and his pals are taking a trip to the suburbs.

Although families flock to the American Museum of Natural History for a glimpse at these prehistoric giants, the Long Island Children Museum is hosting a dino-tastic traveling exhibit beginning Jan 27 that’s certainly worth a look.

Dinosaurs: Land of Fire and Ice, created by the Minnesota Children's Museum and nationally sponsored by The David B. Jones Foundation, offers an immersive experience for all visitors, including a glimpse at dinos’ habitats, a dig station that allows little ones to get their hands dirty and even the opportunity to venture around a swampy bog in an insect costume (simultaneously icky and awesome, of course).

If you’re in need of a little weekend getaway and have no problem venturing back to primitive times, this is the perfect way to any Jurassic Park lovers’ heart.
