One of our favorite things to do in spring is to stroll through beautiful blooms—particularly the cherry blossoms, which make their glorious appearance in New York just as winter ends. It's one of the most Instagrammable experiences of the year...why miss it?

While we have several suggestions on where to see cherry blossoms in New York, one of our favorite opportunities to peep the prettiest petals in town is at Brooklyn Botanic Garden. This neat rendering will update (on BBG's website) to pinpoint where the flowers are blooming so you can make the most of your garden visit.

Patch reports that BBG will offer late hours on Tuesdays in April and May (open through 8:30pm) so that visitors can see the blossoms at sunset. To access the garden's later hours, you will need to purchase a Garden After Hours ticket for $20 (non-Garden After Hours ticketholders leave at 6pm). Seems like a sweet opportunity to visit without the crowds, though if you want to enjoy the Sakura Matsuri festival, you'll have to brave the crowds on April 28 and 29. We'll see you there!

The Brooklyn Botanic Garden is located at 990 Washington Ave, Brooklyn (718-623-7200, bbg.org).
