Toy Story Land is opening—here's why you should book a trip

For those who can't get enough of the Woody-Buzz Lightyear bromance, now's the time to indulge. Disney’s Hollywood Studios will open the 11-acre Toy Story Land on June 30—just in time to plan a summer getaway with the family. As our go-to guy would say, "To infinity and beyond!" Here are five reasons why you should consider making Toy Story Land your 2018 vacation.

You love being surrounded by all-things toys...without cleaning up the mess.

Don't try to deny it: You might loathe cleaning up your kids' messy playroom, but at the end of the day, you can't help but love their favorite toys as much they do. With this new attraction, the oversized features give a bit of role reversal and make you feel as though you are the next toy Andy will pick up. Obviously, you'd be remiss if you didn't catch a glimpse of the tremendous Buzz Lightyear this summer.

The rides seem fun, but not scary.

Slinky Dog Dash is the highly-anticipated roller coaster coming to Toy Story Land, but the ride doesn't appear to be one that'll completely terrify your crew. It'll be exhilarating, but without the hysterics that follow after you take your youngsters on an attraction they're not prepared for. You can save the scarier thrills for your teens.

It'll hit you with a wave of nostalgia.

Remember the first time you saw the beloved film (all the way back in the '90s) and you felt as though you were at the pizza place with Andy? Now, Alien Swirling Saucers will make you feel as though you stepped back in time. Remember these fellas? You know, before the minions took over.

It's the perfect excuse to spoil your kiddos...and yourself.

Disney treats are the necessities of a successful trip to Orlando. What would this experience be if you didn't make a pitstop to Woody's Lunch Box for some ice cream floats? Snacks are as imperative as your ride on Slinky Dog Dash.

It pays homage to a classic.

While we can't resist new Disney movies, this new park is a fun way to relive a fan-favorite that your kids might not necessarily be exposed to otherwise (these days it's all about Anna and Elsa, after all). Step into Andy's world and enjoy.
