When campers climb aboard the USS Intrepid this summer, they transform into sailors, spies and astronauts, ready to take on whatever mission comes their way. The gigantic aircraft carrier is their home base for exploring history, engineering and science through engaging themes: Challenging Construction, Intrepid Inventors, Deep Sea Exploration and Spy Science. The day begins with outdoor challenges on the pier and a visit
to the museum’s interactive Exploreum. Awesome artifacts and displays throughout the museum provide key information about the day’s topic to help kids with designing 3-D models, building space vehicles and creating cutting-edge telescopes. The day wraps up with playtime that includes Battleship, LEGOs and more. Ages 5–13.
