Youth Pride NYC: Here's your guide to all of the fun (virtual) Pride celebrations happening this year

June is a time to celebrate love and acceptance. Let our Youth Pride NYC guide help you uncover the best (virtual) activities taking place this month.

Our go-to bookstores and libraries are a few spots that cater their Pride festivities to youngsters with storytimes and fun activities. Plus, we round up great LGBTQ+ reads that will find a spot on your bookshelf. (See below and prepare to visit your local indie.)

Don't forget to snack on the best rainbow foods in town. Things might be a little different this year, but the celebration will go on. Enjoy Pride 2020, NYC!

Take a look at our list of the best drag queen story hour sessions (virtually, for now) and you'll find celebrity drag queens who know how to make the characters in children's books come to life.  New storytimes for kids are being added all the time by kids' library branches and other terrific online resources, so be sure to check back for the latest schedule.

The last two weeks have seen a renewed surge in the global fight against racism, sparked by the US protests following the killing of George Floyd. The Black Lives Matter movement has inspired mass marches, powerful art and even the toppling of statues. Now the Global Pride event scheduled for this month has announced that its 24-hour live stream on June 27 will work with Black Lives Matter to amplify Black voices across the world.
