What is the Storm King Art Center?

Founded in 1960, Storm King is a 500-acre “outdoor museum” where visitors can vibe on large-scale sculpture and site-specific installations set in a rolling landscape under open skies. The grounds are divided into four areas: the North Woods, Museum Hill, the Meadows and the South Fields.

What is there to see?

Special exhibitions of outdoor art by leading contemporary artists as well as installations drawn from Storm King’s permanent collection, including major sculptures by Alexander Calder, Mark di Suvero and Richard Serra. Storm King also hosts indoor exhibitions in its Museum Building. Tours of the grounds are also offered.

Storm King is located in the lower Hudson Valley at 1 Museum Rd, New Windsor, NY near the town of Cornwall.

When is the Storm King Art Center open?

Mon, Wed-Fri 10am–5:30; Sat, Sun 9am–5:30pm; closed Tue. Note that hours vary by season, so check ahead before you visit.

How much does Storm King Art Center cost to get in?

$18, seniors $15, ages 5–18 and students with ID $8, children under 4 and members free. Note that visitors who arrive before 10AM will receive $3 off regular admission.

How do you get to Storm King Art Center?

By train:

Metro-North from Grand Central to Beacon; shuttle to Storm King is available on weekends and holiday Mondays (reservation require)

NJ Transit from Penn Station to Salisbury Mills
