Let's be honest, despite the plethora of top-notch doughnut shops in New York, there's always room for more—which is why we're oh-so-excited to tell you all about Voodoo Doughnut, a Portland-based chain that will debut its first-ever location in NYC some time in the near future.

According to an official Instagram post by the company, the new store will debut at 41 Union Square West, near 17th Street. Although an opening date has not been announced yet, would-be fans are encouraged to sign up for a waiting list to be the first to know about any updates.

The first 50 folks to join "Voodoo Doughnut Insiders," as the waiting list is dubbed, will also receive a special gift delivery prior to opening, plus the chance to attend the shop's exclusive VIP preview night.

As the chain's moniker makes clear, Voodoo Doughnut is known for its slightly quirky and off-the-beaten-path sweets: from the Old Dirty Bastard (chocolate frosting, Oreo cookie crumbles and peanut butter drizzle) to the Oh Captain, My Captain (vanilla frosting and Cap'n Crunch cereal), Voodoo Bubble (vanilla frosting, bubble gum dust and an actual bubble gum) and the Memphis Mafia (banana chunks, cinnamon, chocolate chips, peanuts). We'll be sure to try them all, of course.

Eater reports that the new location will actually be "one of three new expansions, including Miami."

While we wait to hear about an official opening date, you'll find us at some of the other newer doughnut shops across town, including the Tokyo import I'm donut?, the Canadian COPS and, of course, the always-delightful Doughnuttery, inside our very own Time Out New York market in Dumbo. Can you tell we love doughnuts?
