Where to watch the America's Cup in NYC
The most prestigious sailing competition in the world will be holding races this Saturday and Sunday in the Hudson River
Sailing races for the America’s Cup—NYC's biggest sailing event—will be held in New York City for the first time since 1920 in what promises to be one of the best things to do this spring. Hit up a waterfront bar and watch six teams from the United States, Britain, France, Japan, New Zealand and Sweden compete in the preliminary event for the 35th America’s Cup next June in Bermuda. The races are free to watch from the shore, a great thing to do outside and will be taking place rain or shine.
When is the America’s Cup in NYC?
The America's Cup races will take place from 2 to 3:30pm on Saturday, May 7 and Sunday, May 8, 2016.
Where is the America’s Cup in NYC?
The best place to watch the action will be around Battery Park City. The Brookfield Place Waterfront Plaza will be the center of the race’s festivities, and a great place to watch the races. The Plaza will also be hosting a free event village from 11am to 6pm on both days with pop-up bars, merchandise booths and a lounge area.
