For four days only, trade in a cucumber for a G&T

This June 10 to 13, you can pay the tab for your cocktail not with your credit card, but with a cucumber. The peculiar offer is part of Hendrick’s World Cucumber Day celebration, dubbed the ‘Cucumber Currency Exchange’. From 5.30pm to midnight, over 60 bars in Singapore will be scrapping their happy hour deals in place of ‘Cucumber Hours’. Simply bring along any type of cucumber to trade it in for a glass of Hendrick’s Gin & Tonic.
This is the first time in four years that the spirits brand is holding the Cucumber Currency Exchange. The bars taking part in the event include popular names like Smoke & Mirrors, Potato Head, The Prince, Brooklyn Bar, Stay Gold Flamingo, Level33, Tipsy Flamingo, The Tipsy Tavern and more. Read on for the full list of participating bars.
The creative idea of exchanging cucumbers for cocktails started as a way of celebrating the unique ingredients that are featured in Hendrick’s Gin, including cucumber, rose petal infusions, and a blend of 11 botanicals. Guests can also choose between three types of Hendrick’s Gin for their cocktail base: the original; Hendrick’s Flora Adora with stronger floral notes; or Hendrick’s Neptunia which has a greater depth of flavour from a blend of Scottish coastal botanicals.
Finding a cucumber shouldn’t be difficult, but in case you’re in need of one, Hendrick’s is sending a team of cucumber connoisseurs from June 10 to 13 from 11am to 1pm, who will be positioned along Raffles Green, Downtown Marina, and Tanjong Pagar to hand out cucumbers.
