An ice rink is coming to Central Park

It's nearly the September school holidays and the weather is already starting to heat up, so it's very good news that there's going to be a pop-up ice skating rink at Central Park Mall from Fri Sep 23 until Thu Sep 29. And the news get seven better: it's going to be a silent disco on ice. Any one growing up in Sydney in the '90s will have warm fuzzy memories of grooving to pop hits at Macquarie ice rink, and now you can do it all again.

Did we mention it's free. You can head down to the mall from 10am to 8pm any day to glide across the ice, or if you're in the mood to bust out some Blades of Glory-style ice dancing, the silent disco runs from 4pm until 8pm. As we well know ice skating events in Sydney get crazy popular, and there's only room for 45 people at a time, so time your visit to the Chippendale Green right to cool your heels on the ice.

Prefer to cool down in the water, not on top of it? Check out Sydney's best ocean pools during the school holidays.
