As a part of Vivid Live and the Sydney Film Festival, the Australian Chamber Orchestra will take to the Sydney Opera House to accompany the premiere screening of the epic Mountain.
The new film from Jennifer Peedom (director of Sherpa) was shot by the world’s leading high altitude cinematographers and captures mountains and landscapes in ways you've never seen before, with narration by William Dafoe. Mountain traces our modern-day fascination with conquering peaks.
Throughout the film's production musical director Richard Tognetti worked closely with Peedom to create an accompanying soundscape for the snow-capped vistas. Pieces include concertos and sonatas from Beethoven, Vivaldi and Sculthorpe, alongside original compositions from by Tognetti.
The event is also touring nationally.
