More than 20 acts feature in this free Chippendale block party, curated by local singer-songwriter Ngaiire
Sydney Fringe like to open with a bit of a bang: a free musician-curated street festival called 'Fringe Ignite'. This year's party is taking over the Fringe's new precinct in Kensington Street, Chippendale. The line-up is curated by local Ngaiire, and features live music, spoken word, performance and food.
The music line-up features Ngaiire, Stereogamous, Wallace, Billie McCarthy, Karai Hemara, Sarah Belkner, Broken Mountain, Colourfields, Froyo, Crooked Letter, Ross Henry, Sparrows, Yon Yonson, Victoria, Kaiit, Ben Panucci, Georgia Fair, and Matilda Abraham. There's also spoken word courtesy of Blackbirds, Bankstown Poetry Slam, and L-Fresh the Lion performing with dancer Sarah Vai.
Ngaiire says of the line-up, "nearly half of these acts are POC and in my opinion part of the future of music in this country!"
Turn up from noon to grab some food; catch Ngaiire in conversation at 2pm; and kick off the party from 4pm.
