Kick off the annual arts and music festival with a block party
Stanley Street will be more than just an average street when a cavalcade of musicians, artists and performers transform the Darlinghurst stretch into a block party. The launch party for the 2016 Sydney Fringe Festival will host the likes of Arne Hannah, the Felas, Sikkem Rex Trio and many more local musicians, playing in shopfronts, galleries and bars.
This year's curator is jazz pianist and composer Barney McAll – he was also Sia's musical director, so expect some off beat, piano-skewed acts.
If you've still got some fuel in the tank after the festivities finish, get down the Midnight Shift for the Sydney Fringe Drag Disco from 9pm.
