Western Sydney is growing at a crazy rate, with a new international airport, new parks and a whole new CBD coming to life. On the accommodation front, there’s more to come too – with Parramatta officially set to get a new international hotel. DoubleTree by Hilton Parramatta is slated to open in late 2028, complete with 100 rooms and a heap of event spaces. Here’s what we know so far.
The hotel will sit within Deicorp’s new Cosmopolitan precinct at 34 Hassall Street, which will bring 597 apartments across two 46-storey towers, alongside retail, commercial and dining spaces. Designed by Turner Studio, the mega development will essentially create a whole new urban village on the park-side edge of Parramatta’s CBD.
As for the hotel itself, there will be 100 rooms (ranging in size from 20 to 45 square metres), plus an all-day dining restaurant and lounge. The hotel will also be home to 667 square metres of event space, including meeting rooms, a boardroom and pre-function areas, as well as fitness and wellness spaces. From what we can tell, this one will be more of a business hotel than a destination itself, with the team explaining that the wellness facilities are “designed for today’s business and leisure traveller”. Exactly what those facilities will look like is still under wraps – renders show a shiny facade and luxe interiors, but there’s no news yet on whether guests will score a pool or spa on site.
Based on the location, getting around should be pretty straightforward. A Parramatta Light Rail stop will sit directly beside the precinct, and Parramatta Railway Station and the ferry wharf are nearby. The upcoming Sydney Metro will provide another connection, with Parramatta Square, the Westmead Health Precinct and Western Sydney University also within easy reach.
Construction on Cosmopolitan is already underway, with DoubleTree by Hilton Parramatta scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2028. You can keep tabs over here.
