Time Out says

The Central Park precinct is heating up

Central Park’s dining precinct just got tastier with the opening of Spice Alley. Tucked behind the Kensington Street laneway in Chippendale, the open-air courtyard is serving up hawker style dishes from across the globe.

Adding spice to the mix is Alex Lee Kitchen, serving up authentic Singaporean dishes. Tuck into Thai and Vietnamese street food at Bang Luck, the brainchild of Mama’s Buoi’s Tiw Rakarin. Get a taste of Malaysian street food at Old Jim Kee, or treat yourself to Cantonese comfort food at Hong Kong Diner.

Whereas the nearby Old Clare Hotel has the pointier end of the food scale covered with exciting newcomers Silvereye, Automata and Kensington Street Social, Spice Alley is perfect for students, or those on a student-sized budget. Speaking of dollars, Spice Alley is cashless, so make sure you bring your plastic.
