Markets come to mind for many when thinking about Glebe, but weekly stalls at the local primary school aren’t the only place to make a special purchase in this Inner West suburb. Only four times a year, Foley Park transforms into the Artisans Market Glebe to showcase a carefully curated selection of homemade Australian creations.
Since this quarterly event began in 2016, it has developed a line-up of over 60 creatives offering a range of locally designed and produced homewares, fashion, jewellery, art, beauty products and more. The market became a fully incorporated non-profit association in 2018, and has since made donations to schools, a women’s refuge, a youth club, a rehab centre and an Indigenous education college, so purchases support both independent artists and the local community.
Expect to find live music playing throughout the park from 10am-3pm, with this true artisan market offering a chance to relax, meet the makers and support the neighbourhood while browsing high quality, lovingly created goods.
