Time Out says

Send your ravens: wine is coming...

Ready your goblet for the return of Game of Rhones, an all-out wine celebration which sees drops from Australia, New Zealand and abroad battle it out for the Iron Rhone. Celebrating varieties of France’s famed wine region, the Rhone Valley, the best drops will be available for tasting and purchasing at cellar door prices.

As you may have guessed, the event is an unofficial tribute to HBO’s most successful program, Game of Thrones, and they really go ham on the references – even the varieties of wine sound like television’s most vengeful families. Expect plenty of Shiraz, Grenache, Mourvedre, Carignan, Cinsault and more battling it out in a combative celebration that sees country versus country, region versus region and producer versus producer compete to decide if there really is one wine to rule them all.

Available to try on the day are drops from Voyager Estate, Journey Wines, Yarra Yering, Lost Buoy, Ministry of Clouds, Yalumba, Shaw + Smith and many more. White wine, beer and cider will also be available, as will a range of food from Burn City Smokers, Yarra Valley Dairy. Porteno and La Bastide.

Your Royal Pass ticket price includes a Plumm RedA wine glass for you to keep (valued at $55) and all wine tastes. Wine producers will be dressed in theme, so don’t hesitate to come dressed as Westeros’ most ardent wine drinkers (dibs on Cersei and Tyrion).
