Time Out says

Don’t settle for one type of wine when you can experience a flight of Penfolds' finest red and whites

Strap yourself in and prepare for take-off, because Australia’s wine gods are ready to whisk you away on a sensational wine flight. Don’t worry about packing your passport – this exclusive wine-tasting experience will unfold at two top Sydney venues throughout August and September.

For those yet to dabble in the art, wine flights are simply a chance to sample different varietals grown in a collection of climates or regions. You don’t need any previous flying experience for this one – Penfolds Winemaker’s Flight will turn even the most casual sippers into connoisseurs for a night.

Chief winemaker, Peter Gago, is putting Penfolds’ pinnacle red and whites on show for the tasting, including their finest cool-climate white, Bin 311 Chardonnay 2022; Australia’s most cellared red wine, Bin 389 Cabernet Shiraz (2021); and Gago’s “contemporary cult wine”, St Henri Shiraz (2020) – each distinct, but proudly bearing Penfolds red stamp.

Take a different kind of flight to Aster Bar, located on level 32 of the InterContinental Sydney, where you can experience the Penfolds Winemaker’s Flight while taking in panoramic views of Sydney Harbour. Alternatively, take a trip to the New York-inspired D’s Bar and Dining in Marrickville, which is also hosting the exclusive flight experience from August 3 to September 30.

Whether you’re in need of some grape therapy or just want to uncork the good times, don’t leave booking until the last minute. Make a reservation on your chosen venue's website and select the wine flight on the night.
