Ren Zhenyu: You Are My Imagination

Contemporary Chinese artist Ren Zhenyu paints portraits of iconic figures in history. Depicting political figures like Mao Zedong and Che Guevara as well as cultural icons like Andy Warhol and Charlie Chaplin, Ren uses an unrefined technique with a palette knife to create lively colour collages. These paintings are his way to express his attitude towards politics, faith and romance.
