The Cribs successfully distinguished themselves from the outrageous number of other indie acts that were all over the place throughout the noughties by maintaining a more alternative, garage-tinged rawness to their sound. It was that and that one particularly memorable, largely spoken word track with Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth (sorry, we had to mention it, it’s great).
