Time Out says

This now evening-only DJ bar still attracts a studenty, music-savvy crowd to what looks like a cross between an old-style corner newsagents and a Shoreditch-like retro bar. Fantastic Four comic albums, board games in tatty boxes and furniture both wobbly and ratty are juxtaposed with a disco ball and a United Nations of beer cans displayed on a shelving unit.

As for actual liquid nectar, drinks include cocktails and taps of Amstel and Tiger atop a tiny bar counter behind which packets of Refreshers and Wizz Fizz offer childhood allure. A fridge contains bottles of Moretti, Tsingtao and Singha beers; standard cocktails are mixed according to request.

I love Simmons in Mornington Crescent, so it was great to get a chance to come to this branch. Cute decor, great happy hour and a nice friendly vibe. Sadly it's not near anyway I regularly go to, but I shall definitely divert here when I am in the neighbourhood for a cocktail in a teacup!

Simmons is such a great place for a party!! One of my friends booked the downstairs area for about 30people for his big birthday celebrations and it was great. The music was good, the cocktails were delicious and the long happy hour was just the cherry on the top!!
Also, the sega (for any 80's/90's kids) is a fantastic addition to the basement. Never thought I'd play Sonic whilst drinking cocktails but somehow it happened and I enjoyed it!!

A nice bar with friendly staff, and a great happy hour I came here with work colleagues, as it's very close to the office...and I'll definitely be coming back!

What a nice place! I was there last night with my friends, we had such a good time! The staff is so friendly and polite, ...cocktails are so tasty and cheap! 2x£10!! The Dj was playing good music, reading the crowd all the time...we will definitely go back again !!

I was recommended Simmons for a few casual Thursday night drinks, and it did not disappoint! Yeah it doesn't look like much but it's comfy, relaxed, buzzing and quirky all at the same time. We went for Happy Hour, which is one of the best I've encountered in London – with two cocktails for £10, or two spirits/mixers for £5. Yes, that is £2.50 for a G&T.

As if it couldn't get any better, they also have an old school Sega Megadrive in the basement. The music does get pretty loud down there though so it's more play, less chat.

90's kids, this one's for you.

If you are on the hunt for a good happy hour, look no further. Happy Hour at the Simmons Bar (various locations) is the best I have come across so far. With bottled beers, wines, and spirits and mixers all at £2.50 between 4pm and 9pm, Sunday to Friday, you can hardly go wrong. Where else have you ever given the bartender a tenner for three G&Ts and got £2.50 back? We went to the one in King’s Cross where the staff is friendly, décor is quirky and the music is groovy.

simmonds bars rock, cheap cocktails. £2,50 gin and tonics and the epic cocktail jugs make for a great evening out. I took my team out and enjoyed the 4 hour happy hour. This place gets really busy so booking is highly recommended. This little change has a great concept which is popular with the hound trend set but equally with Jude trying to save a few pennies. Cheap and cheerful and does exactly what it says on the tin. Expect to leave there in a very jovial state. Great ambiance and a fun time had by all.

Truly an Amazing Venue, had a really good time with my work pals, we all love the happy hour and the cocktail venue would def recommend for quiet drinks or work staff parties.

The best happy hours you can get seem to be at Simmons bars!

Although it's a chain, the Simmons in Kings Cross is my favourite, simply because the design is particularly quirky and it's tends to be one of the more lively, atmospheric bars. You can get a glass of wine for £2.50 at happy hour - I mean, you can't really beat that, price-wise, in central London, can you? The cocktails are cool too - some get served to you in teacups. The only drawback is it's pretty small so it can be difficult to find somewhere to sit when it's busy.

Amazing Happy Hour! 4-9pm is happy hour which includes, beer, wine or spirit and mixer for only £2.50. I enjoyed this cozy bar for an after work drink. It might be small but the layout is quirky using a variety of bar stools and bar leaners creating an eclectic space which includes a 'mirror ball' skull! I had an amazing 'Mirror Ball' cocktail; gin, lemon juice, elder-flower and soda water. A refreshing and tarty cocktail which is perfect for summer. I cant wait to try Simmons other locations!

I have been going here for a couple of years now. It has a great atmosphere and a good happy hour. Can get very crowded.

Yet another great place for happy hour drinks! They do a great range of cocktails at happy hour and the interior decor at this branch is simply the cutest. It's a tad small on the ground floor but there is more space on the lower ground floor. If you come early just around 4/5pm, you can still guarantee getting a table/seat but after work hours end, the crowd does start to stream in. I liked the funky names they gave their cocktails and the effort they put into their presentation - with the glasses and decorations used.

Accidentally found this place and i'm glad I did! Very unique, i cant fault it!

Is a very cozy place with amazing cocktails. Always nice staff! Your order is provided fast and the best part is when the DJ is coming in the evening. Had a couple of great parties there with my friends. 😍

Small enough to always feel busy on any night of the week, and at weekends it feels like being at someone's crowded house party. Other bars have been and gone, but we just keep coming back to Simmons KX as the best bar in London. Our favourite!

Great cocktail bar in the heart of kings cross. Alway the best place for extra long happy hour.

Great place just down the road from where we live and the cocktails are amazing served in beautiful tea cups. Probably the best happy hour lasting about 4 hours and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended!

There's a reason why this place is always so busy! The BEST happy hour in London, great atmosphere, lovely staff and perfectly located in Kings Cross.  I seriously highly recommend this place!

Guys. Girls. I have FINALLY found THE best happy hour in London. And yes I know that sounds like an oxymoron - 'what, a cocktail for a tenner instead of the usual £15? Whoop-Dee-do.' I understand your cynicism, really I do. I, too was once a cyncic like you. Even after seeing the amazing happy hour (which, by the was is actually a happy 5 hours) menu online, I had to double check reviews of this place (on Time Out of course) and look through pictures of it to make sure it wasn't some kind of student bar where oldies like me are not welcome. I even double, triple checked the bar location on three different map apps because I didn't believe it could be so central. So yes, my friends...I understand.

But as you can see I have done all the due diligence for you and I can confirm without a doubt that this is the mother of all London happy hours. Okay, are you ready? Simmons happy hour runs from Sunday-Friday (YES, Friday), 4pm-9pm. Offers: beer - £2.50 glass of wine - £2.50 Spirit & mixer - £2.50 bottle of wine - £10 two cocktails - £10 cocktail teapots - £15 bottle of prosecco - £16. Have you fallen off your chair yet? They even have a reduced menu happy hour on Saturdays 4pm-9pm with two cocktails for £10 and cocktail teapots for £15.

'Well, it must be a dive' I hear you say. No, sir. This is a fun little bar a stones throw from Kings Cross Station with eclectic decor - think skull shaped mirror ball. There are a few tables upstairs which you should try to reserve if you want to go, but also some bar space and a small basement bar. The DJ hits the decks early and doesn't stop the tunes until midnight. We had an excellent night at Simmons and, as they have a few other venues around the city, I will most definitely be back sooner rather than later! 5 stars!

Love this little place!

Sure it looks like your nan's front room, and you're more likely to tread on someone's toes than on the tube, but that's what I like about it. A bit shabby round the edges, but you're guaranteed a great night.

If you can - I'd recommend booking a table to park your cocktail-filled tea pots on. Either that or be prepared to bump bums, busting moves to old school tunes. It's teeny tiny inside, which adds to the fun, but can mean you end up with someone's martini down your dancing shoes.

Definitely a winner for Kings Cross. Can't wait to try out the other venues too.

Lively little place, especially late at night. People are generally in the party mood!

It's small, intimate, lively, mismatched, quirky and does an absolute cracking happy hour. With bigger chain hitters like Be At One and The Big Chill only a stones throw away, I would recommend Simmons over these two in a heartbeat. Have a fun night out without the bank account sweats in the morning.

A great little bar in an area where there aren't too many great bars, little or otherwise. It has the whole kitsch, oddball decor vibe, but not in an aggressively bohemian way – which is good, as aggressive bohemians are a pain. Instead, it simlply adds to the atmosphere. It really is pretty tiny and gets crowded after work hours and at busy points over the weekend, so get there early to make sure you can fit in. The happy hour is a total boozy bargain, too.

Veeeeery nice bar! Awesome Skull Mirrorball on the ceiling, awesome staff and awesome cocktails for everybody who like those, and for those who don't - very lovely wines, beers, mixers and shooters. I would forget, AWESOME cheap happy hours! Check it out!!!! :)

Cool, funky and stunning venue with friendly staff. Fun times to be had by all.

Very nice little bar! Long happy hours and nice atmosphere on Friday nights, with some great music from a DJ. Went there last weekend and definitely coming back again.

Went there for a my friends birthday recently! Had an awesome night, staff were all really friendly and the cocktails were amazing. Great little place!

My boyfriend had his birthday celebrations at Simmons this weekend and I have to say we really enjoyed ourselves, the drinks were tasty and well priced, staff were lovely and we had so much fun! We hadnt been there before and after reading good reviews online we decided to give it a go, definately worth checking out!

Great little venue just off Kings Cross. Working in the trade I'm always looking for cool little niche bars with their own imprint. Away from the monotony of chain bars and boutique bars that are too cool for school. Simmons is exactly what I was looking for. Small enough to be individual but without all the pretentious nonsense that surrounds these types I venues (usually owned by a top 'mixologist' with Daddy's money. Simmons quirky staff rub off on the place and their humour really is imprinted on the walls of this great little hideaway. Definitely will be back next time I'm around town!

Great looking cosy bar but the music is awful! I had my birthday party here and had 25 friends wanting to dance. We were treated to Gold by Spandau Ballet - twice, To Shy by Katchagoogo - twice, slave to the rythim - twice and a bit of Luther Vandross thrown in all with 30 second gaps in between (maybe a bit of mixing practice is needed!). Great if you like 80's mysic but if not it is truly awful and really disappointing...

Had a GREAT night in this bar, really chilled out atmosphere, nice surroundings, decent music, staff and drinks. Really recommend giving it a try.

nice little bar, not particularly big but has a great vibe with good tunes! defo worth grabbing a drink there in if in kings cross area..

really great little joint. Very nicely done with cool design touches inside, always a great vibe too strongly recommend for either a chilled drink or a solid party!

I've been to Simmons quite a few times and I will never have enough of this place! Perfect location, full of wonderful people and just a lovely place to either chill and have a catch up of have a night full of laughter and great memories. DJ is AMAZING!!!

Had a great night there last night. The place was rammed, DJ was great, playing a nice mash up of 80's and 90's funk and soul, tried lots of cocktails in vintage teacups. Definitely the best little bar in KX.

AMAZING. Loved it, really quirky, never seen a place like this in London before. Go there for one drink and I can gurantee you'll end up spending the whole night there. Top notch place with amazing atmosphere, cheap drinks, great staff! Love it, love it, love it...

Coll place where to spend Friday night or Saturday night funky design inside / really funny toilet :D:D:D (Love it)
