London has an abundance of pizza. There are hundreds of pizzerias across the city, with more and more arriving every year. And between them they serve up an immense variety of ’zas. There are classic NYC-style margheritas, deep-dish pies stacked with pepperoni and a tonne of more out-there pizzas topped with curry, spaghetti and banana slices. Now, seven of those London-born pizzas are in the running for the grand prize at the 2026 National Pizza Awards.

Bad Boy Pizza Society could win the title for a historic third time (after victories in 2022 and 2024) with its Vodka Sausage ‘za. Crust Bros is on the shortlist again for its carbonara-inspired pizza, and Yard Sale is gunning for the crown once more with ‘The Gaeng Pizza Gang’, which features spicy, aromatic pork, Thai shallots and basil, mozzarella and pickled mustard greens.

Not even one month after launching, Bermondsey’s Five Feet Pizza is in the running for its Hot Sausage Pie, which combines vodka sauce, fennel sausage, pecorino, ricotta, picked chillies and Calabrian chilli honey. East West Pizza, which creates pies inspired by Indian flavours is among the finalists for its ‘Silence of the Lambs’ offering while ALFI in Spitalfields Market is hoping for a win with its ‘Dom’ pizza.

Due Forni, which you can find in the far northwest of the city, made the cut with its ‘Bella & Buona’ pizza, which has a base of roasted yellow pepper cream topped with stracciatella, confit tomatoes, anchovies and black garlic emulsion.

There’ll all up against nine other independent and chain pizzerias from across the UK, including Pizza Pilgrims, Franco Manca and Zizzi. The finalists will compete in a live cooking showdown at Big Penny Social in Walthamstow on November 3 before the ultimate winner is announced.
