Here at Time Out, we’ve eaten our way around the capital to pick out the shining stars of this fair city’s culinary scene. From swanky Michelin starred fine diners to candle-lit hideaways and late night canteens, we’ve left no toothsome stone unturned.
The result? A brand new ranking of the top 50 restaurants in London for 2026. And luckily for anyone on the look out for a new foodie haven, we’ve decided to map out all the results for you.
The best restaurant in London
Borough Market bistro Camille was crowned Time Out’s top restaurant in London this year. Food and drink editor Leonie Cooper recently put Camille’s French fare to the taste test, and it’s safe to say the food stood up to scrutiny. ‘Eating at Camille is basically a religious experience,’ Cooper said, describing chef Elliot Hashtroudi’s menu as ‘a triumph of imagination, talent, and guts’. Central London
Fancy French fare, the likes of that served at Camille, is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to our list of the top 50 London eateries. On the hunt for your next tasty morsel? Well, let’s dig into where you should be heading.
Hackney and east
From the map, you can see that central London is home to a cluster of the city’s best foodie spots. While this year’s champ may lie south of the river, there were plenty of impressive eateries on the Thames’ northern banks, too, including this year’s bronze medalist, Farringdon’s St John. In Soho alone you’ll find the likes of Govinda’s, Osteria Vibrato and Quo Vadis.
Hackney was also a hub of top-tier restos, including Italian trattoria Tiella, which came in second place. Koya Ko, Café Cecilia and Miga were also among the borough’s best places to chow down.
West London: Notting Hill to Chelsea
Heading west? Well, Canteen and Akub in Notting Hill, South Ken’s The Lavery and Chelsea’s Martino’s were repping W postcodes in 2026. Plus, homespun Malaysian spot Normah’s in Queensway landed in fifth place, despite its home being threatened with imminent closure.
South London: Peckham and Lambeth
As for the entries hailing from daan saaf, the edible stars that shone the brightest included Peckham’s Levan, 2210 by NattyCanCook in Herne Hill, Kokum in Dulwich and Sydenham’s Doma.
North and east: Stoke Newington to Chingford
Neighbourhoods stretching from the northeast to Chingford also had their fair share of the list, with Turnpike Lane’s Durak Tantuni scoring a spot in the top 20. Also featuring were Stoke Newington’s Rasa, Chingford’s Gina and Chuku’s in Tottenham
