Being single is great a lot of the time. You get the whole bed to yourself. You have more time to hang out with your friends or enjoy your own company. And you’re far less likely to have to share your food.

But on Valentine’s Day, being single can make you feel like a second-class citizen. It shouldn’t, though. For one thing, there are plenty of equally fun and special events going on around London for Galentine’s Day (or Palentine’s Day) in celebration of the loving and life-affirming platonic relationships in all of our lives.

For another, you can guarantee that there are plenty of fellow singletons at a loss for what to do on Monday February 14, which makes it a particularly easy time to fix yourself a hot date. Not least because there are loads of singles nights and dating events on in the run-up to the big day.

Whether you’re after some traditional conversation-based chirpsing or would rather opt for something a little more leftfield, we’ve rounded up five of the best dating events on and ahead of the day of lurve. All you need to do is bring your best chat.
