Time Out says

This artistic blind date is pairing up 50 Melbourne creatives

Inspiration for artists can come from just about any source, but is often at its richest when it comes from the words or provocation of a writer. That's the principle behind Duality, an event and exhibition that's part of Melbourne Writers' Festival, in which 25 Melbourne artists are being paired up with 25 Melbourne writers. Each of the writers is sharing a line, a passage or a lyric from their notebook, which an artist will create a response to. The twist? None of the artists know whose words they're working with until the opening of the exhibition on August 30. The exhibition is then open daily August 31 to September 8.

The line-up includes Courtney Barnett, Judith Lucy, Jenny Valentish, Dan Kelly, Justin Heazlewood, Henry Wagons, Gretta Ray and Beci Orpin. This is the third iteration of Duality after one round in Vancouver in 2014 and another in Melbourne in 2015.
