Time Out says

This online exhibition and project presents the work of 17 artists as they navigate lockdowns and isolation

On August 27, deep in the midst of Melbourne's stage four lockdown, art exhibition and project producer Fort Heart started documenting the lives of 17 local artists as they navigated this unprecedented period of isolation. The result is Hope in Isolation – an online exhibition celebrating art created during one of Melbourne's toughest periods.

Hope in Isolation project started as a way to support artists during the lockdowns and give them a way to exhibit their works while staying home. A total of 17 artists were chosen for the project and subsequent exhibition, with all but two based in Melbourne. Those artists include Sebastian Vaccaro, Mollie Wilson, Joel Dirt, Elizabeth West, Yuchen Xin, David C Morton, Ronny Elders, Jonathon Harris, Emily Veale, Jenna Kernaghan, Lukas Kasper, Isaac Williams, Darcy Shilton, Emmica Lore, Lucy Wood, Beast and Audrey Kearns.

Over three weeks, these artists were asked to document their process – everything from their studios to their tools and their works in progress. All of this has been captured and presented via the Hope in Isolation Instagram page (scroll to the bottom of the page to follow artists progress chronologically).

The art created during this period range from paintings to collages and sculptures, with the works now able to view via the Hope in Isolation virtual gallery. All works are also available for purchase. Hope in Isolation runs online until October 1.
