Time Out says

Expand your knowledge of the Australian wilderness with a visit to this photography exhibition at Brunswick Artists Bar

What do you think of when thinking of the Australian outback? Do you think of tumbleweeds somersaulting through a barren wasteland? Or of lithe kangaroo silhouettes hopping against a garish orange backdrop?

Expand your horizons - and knowledge - of the Australian wilderness with a visit to the photography exhibition Out back at Brunswick Artists Bar from February 1-28, 2023.

Swap the clamour of the city for the arid wilderness and see the work of two photographers - Brooke Zanco and Em Jensen - who, in 2022, embarked on independent journeys through the outback.

Jensen travelled North-West to Broken Hill, where she documented the community to tell stories of the town. Using a film camera as her microphone, Jensen has captured the locals' stories and the places they inhabit with a honey-toned romanticism. Meanwhile, Zanco, a biologist and photographer, travelled west through the desert, also snapshotting the landscapes with film and focusing on the remote, vast environment and scenery.

Both Jensen and Zanco's work will be exhibited throughout February, and the opening night event will occur from 6pm on February 1, 2023. There’ll be drinks and food available to buy at the venue on the night.
