Time Out says

Two hours from Melbourne in the Central Goldfields you'll find Dunolly, a small ex gold-mining town with less than 1000 residents but a whole lot of history. The traditional owners of the land on which Dunolly exists are the Dja Dja Wurrung people who originally called the area "Lia Kurri Barr" which means "creek where the grey kangaroo eats".

These days the town of Dunolly still has several of its historic buildings like Dunolly Town Hall, Chauncy Cottage and Footers Mansion.
