Back in 1927 the waters of Taradale were analysed and found to be rich in minerals. The site on which the waters were tapped is now Taradale Mineral Springs Reserve, a large park in the centre of Taradale. The reserve has public toilets, free to use gas barbecues, play equipment and plenty of seating.
